Italian Holiday and Bargello...

Today was an Italian holiday. There was a little political ceremony in front of the Republica! It was pretty neat!

We went to the Bargello Museum. This is a museum of staues, paintings, and artifacts from artists like Michelangelo and Donatelo and the building is an old jail. We couldnt take many pictures because flash affected many of the statues but got some outside. The different sculptures were so huge and so detailed! It was very interesting that they could do this so long ago!

These were the stairs up to the first floor. There were three stories of all these different statues and paintings. The walls in the courtyard had these little sculpted pictures.

This was one of the statues outside and it was one of the small statues but each one had a different story and once you heard the story the sculpture had every detail of the story!
Thought this picture was pretty kool! The ceilings in the walkways were little mosaics so i tried to get the sculpture and the ceiling all in one! Shows all the detail of the entire museum!
Then we went to a new supermarket...and i found edible meat!!!! i was so excited i cooked dinner!! The meat they have here in our little minimarket by our house has the meat hanging out on the shelf! I am all up for indulging in the culture but i dont know if i could do that! But i found some at this market in the "fridge". So i decided to cook dinner for everyone! made a little beef and mozzorella pasta. Had to keep it italian!

  1. Did you try horse meat yet? If you get a chance give it a try. It is delicious. Candice and I always are amazed at the mosaics. How did they ever do it? I am so impressed with your travel skills and cooking. Oh! How you remind me of Candice.
