Florence from Above...

Making our way since we decided to go without the group. Thank god for Rick Steve's, he got us there with no problems and told us what we were looking at. Also let us know that you have to pay to use the bathroom up there!!!!no thank you!
Piazzale Michelangelo. These are just the begenning steps. It went from ramps to cement stairs to stairs in the ground and so on. But it was beatiful and the top is an unbeatable experience.
This is when we thought we had made it to top and we thought the view was amazing then.....

Heather and I just staring at the view. I think we stood here for twenty minutes and no one said a word!

And then there were more stairs....

The Flowers here are amazing. I want a garden made of all of them! And they smell amazing.

We finally made it to the top. I do not even think that these pictures give it justice. It was seriously the most beautiful scene I have ever seen. You could see the entire city and the moutains in the distance and the countryside with the houses lining the sides of the mountains. Absolutely beautiful! I am definately taking Meagan here when she comes(although she will probably complain about the hike!jk)
This is my favorite picture of the entire trip. You can see our bridge Ponte Vecchio.. It was the only bridge that Hitler did not bomb(just a little bit of info in case you wanted to know)...and the Arno River and the city and of course my flowers.... I love it!
The Duomo in the distance. We hadnt really realized that it was this big. We will be taking the journey up it hopefully tomorrow(so excited!!) We will be in the little part at the top of the dome section!
Mariya Heather and I standing at the top of the Piazzale Michelangelo. The background looks fake!
There was a wedding going on while we were on the Michelangelo. I cant imagine what it would be like to get married with that view behind you. I feel sorry for whoever wants to marry me...because i think i found where i want to get married!
The David statue in the middle of the square.
More of my flowers. They smelt absolutely wonderful. I love the smell of roses but these were extra strong so you could smell them just walking by!
and there were more steps. These are the steps to the Renaissance Chapel. It was very pretty with a beautiful alter and paintings all the way down the walls.

We went up again to the San Miniato Al Monte. It was a beautiful church with an amazing view of the city.

This was the wall built to surround and protect the city. You can tell that it is very old but so strong that it is still standing.!
San Miniato Al Monte Church.

There were a few alters in this church but this was the main one. There is another up the stairs and one down stairs. They are used for different reasons like one is for the monks. We actually saw a monk chanting at the downstairs alter, it was pretty kool.

Outside the church they had a beautiful garden throughout the grave yard. The roses were huge and super red!
The Bell Tower above the Church.
We went into the cemetary outside of the church. It was huge! There were graves from the 1800s all the way up until the 2000s. There were some graves had headstones that were massive, and some even had there own little housing around the graves.
After we went to Michelangelo, which we stayed at most of the day we went eat dinner at cute little Italian Restaraunt. It was very good and we all ventured out and got some pretty interesting things.
Then we went get some gelatoand went to the Ponte Vecchio and listened to the live music on the bridge over looking the lights on the river. He was singing all Italian local music and the locals were dancing in the street. Love to see the culture of this place!
